Description

The aim of the project is to create the club Escuela Besaya para Emprendedoras y Empresaria (CEBEE). The project will focus on three areas: - Research, in order to identify obstacles to women's entrepreneurship and the development of managerial careers for women, as well as work-life balance. - Representation, in order to promote resources which support work-life balance in small companies and businesses. - Participation, getting female entrepreneurs or women establishing companies involved in setting up the management system for the CEBEE. Work on the project will adopt a three-level approach: coordination with the Cantabria Emprendedora system; cooperation with socio-economic stakeholders, female entrepreneurs and business owners, and a committee of experts; and lastly, a practical roadmap which involves organising two trade shows to increase visibility to enable the sharing of information on actions through a specific work objective.

Summary of project results

The project's main objective was supporting successful consolidation of female led entrepreneurial projects through the creation of a Club School “Besaya” of Entrepreneurs and Businesswomen. The project aimed thus to create spaces for training, support, promotion and communication that would facilitate networked cooperation, as well as inclusive and innovative methodologies. Across the project, several actions have been carried out. Firstly, preliminary information about the project was disseminated through a website, motivating the local community to tell their opinion about it. As a result, the need and wish to create a Club School was detected, which would make a difference with respect to the existing tools. In these first moments, a study was carried out on “Work-life balance systems during entrepreneurial processes”, to detect the main obstacles for female entrepreneurship. The research was conducted through interviews with local entrepreneur women. The project has also hired the services of entrepreneurs and of start-ups, creating teams that have had to work together in networks for the same objective: the creation of the Entrepreneurs’ Club. The development of the activity has been organised by the Local Development Agency and the entrepreneurs have had to contribute to it. In addition, 21 entrepreneurs (11 women) have received support services for their attendance to fair events. As result of these actions, 9 women entrepreneurs have participated in the creation of the Club, 39 have received assessment and information, 56 persons (50 women) have shown their products in two local fairs at no cost, 20 persons (8 women) have shared their experience in the two fair events and 21 entrepreneurs (11 women) have participated in the networking entrepreneur experience with the shared objective of creating the Club, perceiving the incentive to entrepreneurship. The creation of a structure for the Club has not been achieved, but beneficiaries have started their projects, experimented networking and the opportunity of organising their own production. The reality of women entrepreneurs has been also shown and disseminated in certain sectors of rural areas, increasing awareness.
