Description

The project wants to emphasise the lack of opportunities for women if measures are not taken to ensure the presence of women in the digital age. The project is based on entrepreneurship, technology and gender and how this combination may be used to create economic opportunities. Specifically, the project intends to initiate a process of regional consensus in the context of female business creation and to implement new approaches that will improve the position of women in a labour market dominated by technology. It will use the Launchpad methodology, an innovative method to create tech business. The female users will receive training and ongoing support by specialized coaches during all stages of the business creation. The project also includes the creation of a local partnership for monitoring Female Entrepreneurs Policies; measures to raise awareness in order to promote a positive image of women and activities to increase the participation of women in jobs of the new economy.

Summary of project results

DAME project wants to emphasize that the advances of NICT brings both progress and lack of opportunities for women if measures are not taken to ensure the presence of women in the digital age. This situation has particular relevance in the case of women entrepreneurs. For that, DAME project has been based on entrepreneurship, technology and gender and how this combination may be used to create economic opportunities for women. Specifically, it has worked insensibly on 40 women during the full business creation process. DAME used the Launchpad methodology, an innovative method to create tech business. The women users have received training and ongoing support by the figure of specialized coaches during all stages of business creation. 33 business projects lead by women is the most important result of DAME project. But also, the improvement of digital skills by training 182 woman. DAME also includes complementary actions: the creation of a local partnership for monitoring Women Entrepreneurs Policies destined to be continuous; measures to raise awareness in order to promote a positive image of women focused on the media sector and other to increase the participation of women in jobs of the new economy.

Summary of bilateral results

The participation of ECWT has been focused on transferring know how and methodologies to the target audience by participating in the kick-off event of the DAME project on February, in transnational event 25-26 June 2015 in Gandia and through organizing the study visit for the delegation of Gandia led by the new mayor Diana Morant Ripoll. ECWT invited also the participants of the DAME project to take part in the European level competition that ECWT is organizing to select the three final pitchers of the Women Entrepreneurs Live Pitching on the 22nd October at the EU flagship event ICT 2015 in Lisabon: The project Learn IT Town has been selected as one of the three finalists.
