Description

The project targets entrepreneurs and businesswomen in rural Asturias, Cantabria and Castilla-León. The project will organise activities, including workshops to identify barriers to female entrepreneurship in rural areas. Each of the workshops will engage at least 3 women with different business ideas or different companies. Each will have different themes and aims to define the key issues of the business. After this phase, each woman will receive individual counseling to address the situation of their business, their business plan, and identify risks, opportunities and weaknesses, and see how they could solve the risks and barriers. These processes are documented through interviews with several women involved in the whole process of training, as well as monitoring. These interviews will be posted on a website created specifically for this project and will act as a documentation center.

Summary of project results

Project CORSE has its sphere of influence on businesswomen and entrepreneurs in rural areas within the three Autonomous Communities (Castilla y León, Cantabria and Asturias) and has the following general objectives: Promote female entrepreneurship in these environments Consolidating rural business projects led by women as a fundamental mechanism to energize our rural world´s economy. Minimize the risks taken by rural entrepreneurs and businesswomen through the introduction of sustainable managing criteria. On these initial objectives, the empowerment of women is being pursued in three dimensions: Collective, through the development of group workshops to analyze the situation of the different initiatives / business projects led by participating women and to enhance the creation of collaborative networks. Individual through the development of personal interviews in which they will identify and analyze the barriers that women find in their entrepreneurship initiative , identifying risks, opportunities, weaknesses and strengths. Relational, because with the logical frame approach methodology we identify the groups with influence over each business or idea of business implicating them to a proactive attitude towards the projects/ business initiatives led by women of the reference environment and facilitating the understanding. 5 group workshops were conducted identifying barriers. A total of 37 women from different parts of Asturias, Cantabria and Castilla- Leon were involved on them.
