Description

The ATALANTA PROJECT aims to empower the personal, social and financial autonomy of women in vulnerable situations. It seeks to encourage full social and labour integration processes as well as a balanced and equitable participation of women and men in all spheres of life. The project’s overall aim is to enhance the employability (both as employed and self-employed) of women in vulnerable situations, particularly of those who are victims of gender-based violence. This implies bolstering networking, social economy and entrepreneurship. With a gender perspective, they will be provided with social support services and a training program that will improve their social conditions and employability. The project is based on four main points: engendering empowerment, bolstering entrepreneurship, enhancing social and labour integration and learning from good practice experiences.

Summary of project results

The Project attempted to improve the employability, supporting the job search processes both paid and self employment. The Project prioritised networking with partner organizations providing professionalism and greater undestanding and connection between them. The intervention was based on: -promote autonomy, self-esteem, empowerment and analisys of their reality from a gender perspective. -suport for the employment of women in vulnerable situations as a tool for empowerment -promote the development of social economy In this regards, it had important achievements and benefits, which can hace transformative effects on médium-long term: -implementation of initiatives for economic empowerment of women -Changes in their perception of women have trascended labor issues and can produce changes in their position in the enviroment (Empowerment) -the training of professionals for the incorporation of gender analysis (employment, gender violence) in their interventions will have a multiplier effects.
