Description

Reduction of energy consumption is one of the many actions which are necessary in order to save resources. The project idea is to develop an Internet platform, “Electronic Energy Manager”, that monitors energy consumption, creates a line of communication and brings together players in the energy sector. The solution is an IT platform to fill the gap and link providers of energy-related services to clients between providers and consumers of quality energy labelling. As an outcome, an IT-tool will be developed to create a value chain of energy services and link with each other energy consultants, clients, service providers and financiers. the solution will establish long-term relationships with clients and open new opportunities for offering full value chain in energy market.

Summary of project results

Enisef is an internet platform, which seeks to connect all four market players (clients, energy consultants, financiers and technology providers) into a single communication platform. The basis of the internet platform is a database, where energy flow data about the joined companies is gathered. Based on the information, monthly energy consumption analysis are created, which enables monitoring of energy consumption for the client and comparing the data with other similar companies. If there are variations in energy consumption then the software will provide the company with a report and recommendations for eliminating the problem. Therefore, if Enisef creates the value chain opportunity for the energy consultant, the consultant can bind the client to its services – if energy consumption analysis or real time monitoring shows a deviation, the consultant can offer energy auditing. If auditing reveals a need for new equipment, the consultant can trigger the cooperation partner. If the client needs a complex renovation, the financiers can be triggered for Energy Performance Contracting discussion. Most important, the Enisef solution developer and license holder shall integrate all the communication with the client and the data about the created value chain to its central server. The project idea is to distribute the Enisef software with limited fee or for free in order to create a complex database of energy consultants, clients, cooperation partners and market needs. The output of the project is a software that consist of four basic modules – consultants database, metering and reporting engine, project management module and suppliers database. All modules are ready and functional. Most of the work was related to programming, testing and creating the consultants network. The software is a complex set of interrelated web flows allowing the customers move smoothly between the modules. As there are several metering and reporting tools available on the market, the inner logic of flow between project bank, reporting, consultant knowledge and suppliers is an important heuristic approach. Only a few metering tools are having interconnectedness as prerequisite for quick execution of energy services. By the end of the Enisef project the energy services market place was created and the first 50+ consultants were integrated to the software. Summary of bilateral results

The cooperation with the Norwegian project partner was excellent. The Norwegian company is having an extensive practice of energy metering and energy auditing, therefore practical suggestions given were used at programming Enisef. Also, the Norwegian partner found two test sites for running the metering and reporting where building managers were very happy to have Enisef-like software at hand. The project partner organized three international seminars – in Norway, Sweden and Finland - where Enisef was introduced. More than 50 experts were invited to test the software and valuable feedback was analysed and suggestions given to the project owners. Essential knowledge based contacts were established with Smart Grid Services Cluster http://www.smartgridservices.no/ and during the project meetings lot of valuable technical information was exchanged.
