Description

There are currently no specialized services provided in the region of South Bohemia for young adults with mental illness when leaving children's homes. Project is focused on the introduction of a completely new comprehensive program of support for young adults with mental illness when leaving the children's home. The project aims at mapping the situation of the target group and creating such a support program to meet the specific needs of young people in children's homes with mental illness to increase the chances of their successful engagement in normal life. The project will work with 10 clients and prepare together with them and other stakeholders (child psychiatrist, educator in a children's home, recruiters) Cooperation plan. The result of the project is to increase the success rate of young adults with mental illness as they leave the children's home and also prepare a detailed analysis that will describe the problem. Target group pf the project are mentally ill young adults living in children's homes. Project partner FOKUS České Budějovice will be actively participating in project activities.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was the support of young people 16+ who are suffering from mental disease. First the target group was only young people from the Children Homes in South Bohemia. After the analysis the target group has been enlarged to all young people with mental disease in the region. Another aim was the destigmatisation of the mental disease among the students. The aim has been fulfilled. Main activities of the project were: - The analysis of the target group in the Children Homes in South Bohemia - Adaptation of the operational manual and the methodology for social work with young people with m.d. - Realization of the destigmatisation and educational program for students – Crazy? So what! Outputs of the project were: - Support of 43 young people, within 1618 contacts. - Realization of 24 projects day (Crazy? So what!) in secondary schools in Region (for more than 500 students).
