Description
The project is focused on changing the situation of people with mental illness in the region of South Bohemia. Through the planned campaign, the project aims to increase knowledge in a selected group of people (people aged 25-50 years, with secondary or university education, who are in jobs) on the issue of mental illness and thus act to change their attitudes and their future behavior. Project activities: 1) develop, produce and subsequently advertise in the magazine Respekt in the form of comic book story of people with mental illness in which we want to especially point out the stereotypes associated with mental illness; 2) In the magazine 5 + 2 present 4 PR articles on such topics as The situation in psychiatric care in the Czech Republic, community services in South Bohemia, risk of violent behavior among people with mental illness and myths associated with mental illness; 3) Creating FB profile of project. The target group of the project are mentally ill people living in the region of South Bohemia. The partner FOKUS Tábor will participate in the realization of all the project activities.
Summary of project results
The aim of the project was to create a campaign focused on destigmatisation of mental diseases and people who suffer from it. The project “Those who are avoided” has been focused on changing the situation of people with mental diseases in the South Bohemia Region. Through the campaign, we wanted to increase knowledge of the issue of mental disease and thus act to change their attitudes and their future behaviour. The aim has been fulfilled. The campaign has been realized by the edition of the comics stories in magazine, by the facebook profile and by edition of the special newspapers distributed in the libraries in the whole Czech Republic. Outcomes of the project: - 6 comics stories have been released in the RESPECT magazine - edition and distribution of our „Newspapers“ (in 10 000 copies) - the posters with the comics + the plastic characters of the comics stories (used in the exhibitions) - The active facebook profile focused of mental disease problems and destigmatisations (more than 1100 likes).
