Description

The project aims at destigmatisation of psychiatric patients through the implementation of educational activities that promote a positive perception of the transformation of psychiatric care from the public. The project will lead to the elimination of stereotypes; perceptions of psychiatric patients from the public and will directly contribute to the de-stigmatization. The main output of the project will be a new comprehensive program of destigmatisation of psychiatric patients, not only in terms of implemented activities, as well as a manual published and available for other entities dealing with these topics. The manual will include best practices and operational procedures for working with different target groups, etc. Trainings for representatives of public administration and the police will be implemented and two runs of LARP (Live Action Role Play) will be carried out. The project target groups are mentally ill patients; representatives of public administration and the police, journalists and students. The project partner is the Czech League of Human Rights. The partner will cooperate with the project promoter on implementation of project activities.

Summary of project results

The project aim was destigmatisation of psychiatric patients through the implementation of educational activities that promote a positive perception of the transformation of psychiatric care from the public, both lay and professional. According to research conducted, this transformation area is perceived very negatively, but also its acceptance by the public prerequisite for the successful integration of psychiatric patients in the community. The project will lead to the elimination of stereotypes, perceptions of psychiatric patients from the public and will directly contribute to the de-stigmatization. Implemented activities of the project were: environmental analysis, preparation of ambassadors, implementation of training and LARP, campaign for the public, creating an educational program. Outputs of the activitises were: 1 - program developed for the deinstitutionalization and destigmatization of psychiatric patients 189 - people were informed about deinstitutionalisation and destigmatization of psychiatric patients 8 people attended the training of ambassadors 5 - Trainings for public administration staff 2 - LARPs 1 website Abalysis of the environment 1 conference
