Description

The project aims at prevention of accidents and injuries of children. In order to fulfill the goals the target group (school children aged 6-12 years, their families and teachers) will be provided with a comprehensible and accessible information campaign. The target group will experience how to behave in the case of emergency (what to do and what not to do) by communication means appropriate to its age. There will be created a website, which will consist of all the project outcomes, such as animated cartoons, documents, posters, stickers and others. The main target group are children aged 6 to 12 years. The secondary target group consist of parents, teachers and educators.

Summary of project results

In spite of decreases over the last 20 years, injury remains the leading cause of child death and disability in the Czech Republic. The aim of this project was to reduce the incidence and consequences of injuries in a younger school-age (6 - 12 years) child in the day-to-day life (= the aim is to teach children, to show in their language the possible risks they normally lurk at home, school, playground, visi atc., and show them how to properly preserve or provide help that they can manage at their age). On the basis of the results of representative research, the perception of fear, pain, and fear of children in the Czech Republic in children aged 6-12 years was first mapped out. Based on the research, was built 5 tracks for post-processing in the form of videos. Not only the topics but also the chosen language for communication with the target group were important. There are free videos on the public website www.jezkovyvoci.info . To facilitate the work with materials and to educate the target group, educational materials for children were created both in the form of quizzes, supplements and tests, as well as for teachers. In total, 13 freely downloadable pdf documents were created for each target group. Of the 12 most interesting findings, infographics were created. Communication campaigns were set off for FB, YouTube and selected news media (CT, TV Prima, ČRo 2). Direct mailing campaign with direct distribution to selected 5000 schools in the Czech Republic was chosen very well. In the direct mailing set, each school posed an A2 poster with a project motif, 20 stickers and a personal letter to the director. In the letter, the Director was informed of the entire project where she found it and the possibility of her inclusion in the standard curriculum.For the sustainability of the project, both the Web and the FB site are active as well as the YouTube channel. In addition, the project is presented on the website www.kidmap.cz . The primary target group of children between the ages of 6 and 12 was involved in the whole project from the beginning. The first outputs of the selected video were tested by agreement in all types of primary schools in all grades of the 1st grade. In total, 6 schools - Prague, Brno, Zlín (state, private, alternative) were tested.
