Description

The need of the project realization comes from the needs of mentally ill patients who are often being stigmatized and socially excluded. The aim of the project is to develop and implement an information destigmatization campaign on the subject of psychiatric illness in the Region of Ústí nad Labem , which will help to improve the health of the population and to include psychiatric patients back into regular life. A campaign will also be carried out in the elementary schools in the region of Ústí nad Labem. The primary target group of the project are mentally ill patients.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to develop and implement information and destigmatization campaign for school youth, it’s parents and pedagogues in Ústí Region. The campaign was targeted of psychiatric illness theme to help to improve population health and place mentally ill back to normal life. The aim was fulfilled by fulfilling of partial aims:  There has been an increase of awareness about psychiatric illness and life with it among school children; there were organized project days with children and their parents and pedagogues at school Bílá cesta (White path) in Teplice. There were also distributed printed materials at schools.  There has been mediation of basic information about how mental illness looks like and tried to wake understanding towards mentally ill among young generation.  Project also mediated information about prevention of mental illness. Outputs of project:  creating complete destigmatization program  creating methodological recommendations for pedagogical workers Outcomes of the project:  developing and distribution of methodology of destigmatization information program; project day; workshop for school staff  development and production of interactive destigmatiozation electronic information and teaching aid and it’s placing on web  creation of information materials focused on CS children and their parents  distribution of these materials on schools  meeting with deputies of MŠMT (Ministry of education) and presentation outputs of the project
