Description

The project is needed because in the Ústí region, there is no service that is focused on supporting clients with psychiatric illnesses in the labour market. The main objective of the project is to create a new program to support the integration of psychiatric patients into civilian life; support their social integration and their integration into the labour market. The project aims to build and operate a Community Center called WORK-LEARNING (WO-LE), a drop-in center for support and to help psychiatric patients integrate into the labor market. The main outcomes of the project are: an established and functioning Community Center, 20 patients supported in the framework of the integrated program, one training course for psychiatric patients implemented, 1 000 info-sheets for employers, 20 actively participating employers, and 5 patients active in the labor market. The primary target group are patients with psychiatric illnesses. The secondary target group are experts in psychiatry - doctors, ambulance personnel and hospitals.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to create new program to support integration mentally ill patients to common life, to support their social and working integration with the aim to keep or improve their current situation and medical condition. The aim was to improve access of mentally ill patients to non-instutitional services in the region of Ústí nad Labem, to increase their life quality in their natural environment with using help from community services to help improve their independence and autonomy and to support their ability control their own illness. Main aim of this project was fulfilled. One program focussed on deinstitutionalization medically ill patients realized by non-state non-profitable organization. As a part of the project implementation a community center WORK-LEARNING (WO-LE) was built and run, this community center was designed as a drop-in center to help and support mentally ill patients to succeed on job market and retraining (activity n. 1). The core activity of this drop-in center was realization of complex program consisting of motivational education course (activity n. 3), individual work with the client (activity n. 4) and focused work with employers (activity n. 5). Activity n. 2 was representing addressing and motivating targeted groups. Main outcomes of the sup-project are: one program focused on deinstitutionalization, one created and run drop-in center, 20 supported patients by the complex program, one realized educational course for mentally ill patients, 1000 pieces of informational material for employers, 20 actively participating employers, 5 employed patients in the job market. Was created one program focused on deinstitutionalization mentally ill realized by non-state and non-profitable organizations (NNO, activity n. 1 to 5). On drop-in center was created (activity n. 1). 31 mentally ill patients were involved into this program (activity n. 1 to 4). 25 mentally ill patients successfully completed motivational course (activity 3). 22 employers were involved, database of those was created and 5 mentally ill patients were employed on a free market (activity n. 5).
