Description
The mobility is focused on increasing applicant´s knowledge in the field of crisis management related to Geoinformatics (GIS). The applicant is extremely interested in the early warning systems (EPOS, Akne) developed at the Bergen University. The host institution is a European leader in GIS systems for early warning. The applicant is already in the contact with the host University. It could be a benefit to make the collaboration deeper. Experts at the host institution will provide lessons, consultations and fieldwork related to the early warning systems. The applicant will increase knowledge of the technical background, especially in implemented models, used technologies and algorithms. The know-how is not possible to obtain in another way. The host institution is interested in web visualisation that is applicant´s field of study. The consultations about the development of new web application will take place. The future cooperation will aim at common research and journal articles.
Summary of project results
The mobility was focused on increasing applicant´s knowledge in the field of crisis management related to GIS. The internship at the Bergen University was focused on cooperation with experts on early warning systems. The host institution is a European leader in GIS systems for early warning. The colaboration on EPOS (European Plate Observing System) project has been established during the mobility. The applicant attended lessons, consultations and fieldwork. The applicant increased knowledge of the technical background, especially in implemented models, used technologies and algorithms. The applicant contributed on EPOS development - during the mobility new web application for earthquakes vizualisation has been developed (
http://rick.geo.uib.no/crismapp/app/). The host institution is interested in web application. The consultations about the future development of web application took place. The future cooperation have been arranged - it will aim at research and journal articles.
