Description

The focus of this project is on analysing of e-learning methodologies, which are in Norway used as an educational platform for prison education at university level. Project itself consists of two main parts. The first one is a short-term visit (in Oslo, Norway) of a small group of ICT and organizational experts from Masaryk University (including meetings with users of e-learning system at universities and in prisons and also with system-creators from Norwegian Prison Service). During the second part of project (in Brno, Czech Republic), the group of experts will prepare a document, which will be a necessary basis for implementing of e-learning methodology for prison university education in the Czech Republic.

Summary of project results

There was an organized study visit to Norway in the beginning of a project. In September 2015 a small group of experts from Masaryk University made a short-time visit to Norwegian School of Theology and to interested prisons in Oslo-region (in order to study Norwegian e-learning methodology for a prison education at university level). After returning back, the expert group prepared and shared an analysis about e-learning methodology in Norway, which could be applied in Czech university and prison environment. The project was successfully finished. There were no changes needed. The difference between expected and real cost appeared because the group in the end found a cheaper accommodation and also a cheaper way of transportation in Norway. There was a need for this project, because of a long-term demand for innovative system for a university education, which is provided in Czech prisons. Based on knowledge about developed Norwegian system of online education, this project was proposed. After presentations of the project output, the feasibility phase started. During that phase, possible implementation of Norwegian system of university online education in environment of Czech prisons will be verified. The main objective of this project was to get detailed knowledge about Norwegian e-learning platform in prisons. Based on a study visit of an expert group from Masaryk University, the document about possible implementing of specific e-learning methodology was formed and presented to interested subjects. This document was an important milestone for creating a complex e-learning platform for prison education at university level in a Czech environment. The main output of this project was an analysis of Norwegian e-learning platform. This analysis was delivered in October 2015 and that time also a feasibility phase of project implementing started.

Summary of bilateral results

The main beneficiary was a project partner - Norwegian School of Theology. Representative of this university were helping with organizing a short-term study visit of Czech expert group in Norway. They also helped with contacting representative of institutions, who are responsible for creating and running of online educational system in Norwegian prisons. For our project partner the main benefit was an exchange of ideas with the group of Czech experts, concerning prison educational topic. The partner institution took an active role in collecting interesting studying materials and case studies, concerning prison educational issue at university level. Therefore the visiting group of experts could make as large overview about this topic as possible. The project partner also very much helped with contacting other educational institutions, who are in Norway dealing with prison educational issue.
