Description
The objective of the two weeks study tour is getting acquainted with university libraries in Oslo and Bergen (and other norwegian libraries, e.g. National Library of Norway, Oslo Public Library, Bergen Public Library etc.) via knowledge exchange, discussions, excursions and benchmarking. To study how are they managed including their organisational structure, how they work with employees and users, how they coordinate acquisition and cataloguing of specialised literature, how they communicate with the academic staff of the university and cooperate with other university departments. Library services and overall environment including architecture and equipment will be explored. The applicant would gain knowledge about the methods used, and issues dealt with by institutions comparable with the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts Library. Important is trying to find inspiration for the introduction of changes and new elements into ongoing work processes.

Everything went as planned in Oslo and Bergen.
