Description

During the short research stay the applicant would like to implement in the Wittgenstein Archive/Department of Philosophy at the University of Bergen has four main objectives: 1) increase competences of applicant and gain new knowledge of up-to-date software tools and methodology in Digital Humanities; 2) share knowledge and results in research of Wittgenstein’s philosophy and legacy; 3) share experiences from practice in university teaching of analytical philosophy (especially with a focus on Wittgenstein) with the use of new media and information technologies; 4) discuss and plan further cooperation between University of Bergen and University of West Bohemia in research and education particularly in the field of Digital Humanities (e.g. Norway Grants, Horizon2020, Erasmus Plus).

Summary of project results

To increase competences in Digital Humanities by comparing The Bergen Electronic Edition of Wittgenstein’s Nachlass with The InteLex Past Masters database (both accessible exclusively in the WAB). To share results in research of Wittgenstein's philosophy and legacy by consulting S. Szeltner on her PhD theses on Wittgenstein’s conception of grammar and discussing the lecture on phenomenological grammar given by M. Engelmann. To share experiences from practice in teaching of analytical philosophy by consulting contents, teaching methods and forms of assessment of the following courses: Wittgenstein Studies; Master Topic in Wittgenstein Studies; Experimental Psycholinguistics.
