Description

University cooperation, expert shadowing: Based on the novel "Dager i stillhetens historie" by Merethe Lindstrom and essays written by Leo Eitingers applicant would like to present the differences and paralells between the Norwegian and Czech literature on Holocaust in the European literature context. Holocaust demonstrated on the concred human destiny: Leo Eitinger (1912 - 1996), the most known Norwegian psychiatrist, was born in Lomnice and grew up in Czechoslovakia. He studied medicine at the Masaryk University in Brno. Together with other Czechoslovak citizens he refuged to Norway in 1939. They were deported to Ausschwitz together with the Norwegian Jews in 1942. Eitinger survived and turned direct to Norway again. Eitinger is almost unknown in Chech Republic, one of the priorities of applicant´s project is to promote his message of humanity and tolerance.

Summary of project results

The research stay was realized according the project planning at the University in Oslo, in the project period 2. - 18. 2. 2015. Both the study and expert shadowing results and popularisation outcomes are adequate for the 14 days stay in Norway, at the University of Oslo. There are no difference between tha project plan and its realisation in the content and form.
