Description

The applicant works as an English teacher and a student counsellor. She would stay at the host college for two weeks. One week she would shadow in English lessons and the other week she would shadow in student counselling. During the weekends and in the evenings they would like to discuss possibilities for future cooperation and they would start preparing some project, either mobilities or school cooperation. Concerning English lessons job-shadowing applicant would observe using different methods, using ICT, students´ motivation, their evaluation and criteria for certification, setting assignments, lessons of professional English, study modules etc. In counselling she would shadow monitoring and working with students with special needs, talented students, establishing a relationship of trust and respect with students, encouraging students to talk about issues they feel they cannot normally share with others, counsellor´s supervision and counsellor´s training courses, keeping records and using reporting tools etc.

Summary of project results

An English teacher and a student counsellor stayed at the host college for two weeks and shadowed partner colleagues in English lessons and in student counselling. Concerning English lessons, observed using various methods of teaching, using ICT, teachers´ effort to motivate students, evaluation of students’ assignments and criteria for certification, setting assignments, lessons of academic English and study modules. Took an active part in some lessons. Shadowed different teachers in different grades. He was introduced to management of dealing with students with special needs, talented students, to ways of encouraging students to talk about issues they feel they cannot normally share; keeping records and using reporting tools. With school management and teachers of nursing we started preparation of a new project application.

Increased skills/competences of staff
