Summary of project results

It is a fact that in small villages and distant places there is no available any services for support of victims of DV. At the same time, the most affected by domestic violence are women, girls and children from the Roma community and other vulnerable groups living mainly in small settlements. Services for support of victims are rare, hardly to access, mainly due to limited capacity, concentration only in bigger towns. The current project responded to the need to ensure accessible, flexible and quality services for victims of domestic violence, emphasizing on high risk groups and population in smaller settlements and villiges in Varna and in Dobrich regions. Within the project a number of informational and familiarization sessions in small and distant settlements were held with high extent of vulnerability to domestic violence so as to emphasize on the lowering the tolerance towards violence and increasing the informational level and motivation for rights protection. About 160 people are covered by the conducted session and informational activities. The project provided psychological consultations, social intermediary and advocacy, legal consultation. A total of 91 women benefitted from the provided support services. It is aimed to protect victim’s rights and interests and to support them. Through provision of flexible and mobile services, including in remote regions, it is meant to respond to the needs of suffers and seek for solution for the problem, related to unidentified domestic violence and limited access to services for affected in the smaller settlements.
