Description

The applicant works in the field of Special Education. During his stay he intends to visit the University of Iceland, a school and a kindergarten for deaf children. Mobility aims: improving professional skills and exchange of experience. The project will focus on participation in the 9th edition of the Language Resources and Evaluation Conference and Come Hack with OpeNER! seminar and attending lectures on efficient teaching and transmission of linguistic information for people with disabilities; visits to educational centers for deaf and hard of hearing and other institutions; meetings with academic teachers of students with special needs; arranged visits to special education centers and institutions; provided opportunities for meetings with professionals and leaders of NGO for discussing problems related to the topics of the conference and seminar.

Summary of project results

The project was needed to improve professional skills and for the exchange of experience by visiting the only existing special kindergarten in Iceland, different NGOs dealing with education of people with special needs and participation in a Conference "Come Hack with OpeNER!"; the project's objectives have been fully met; the partners engaged in different activities with children with special needs; held talks with various specialists working with people with disabilities; visited a number of NGOs whose focus of work is on special education; examined the way children with disabilities are evaluated by adopting the use of electronic diary. The qualification and competence of the mobility academic teacher professional have been enhanced and expanded.

Summary of bilateral results

The project partner was involved in the exchange of experience and best practices, and ensured the improvement of knowledge and understanding for the promoter. The project has established grounds for future cooperation.
