Description

The project will focus on the exchange of experience and best practices in relation to training in Music in intercultural environment. It will invovle joint work with Norwegian teachers in Piano and Theory of Music, observations of lessons, comparative analysis of curricula in Music in the applicant’s host and the home institutions, sharing experience concerning structuring of different study modules and curricula for international students, building-up of a network for long-term cooperation in the field; adoption of new ideas for further developing the music curricula at the University of Schumen. The goal is to be able to initiate joint concert events in the future and present and promote Bulgarian piano pieces in the Norwegian Music Academy. The project will consist of lectures, attending piano concerts, delivering presentations, participation in Piano Forum.

Summary of project results

The project was needed for the exchange of experience and best practices in relation to training in Music in intercultural environment; joint work with Norwegian teachers in Piano and Theory of Music, observations of lessons, comparative analysis of curricula in Music in the applicant’s host and the home institutions, sharing experience concerning structuring of different study modules and curricula for international students, building-up of a network for long-term cooperation in the field; adoption of new ideas for further developing the music curricula at the University of Sцhumen; the set objectives have been entirely achieved. The project results include; delivered 1 lecture, entitled: "Schumen as a musical city";performed a piano recital as a demonstration to the lecture, performing one of the first Bulgarian concert pieces for piano: "Bulgarian Folk Dances"of the famous Bulgarian composer Anastas Stoyanov - a premiere for Oslo; attended 2 concerts offered by the Norwegian Academy and the Grieg Festival in Oslo; a project for joint concert events for academic teachers and students from both HEIs has been drafted; a lecture were delivered on part of the beneficiary; a piano recital has been performed; a project for future joint cooperation has been prepared;

Summary of bilateral results

Thanks to the partnerships facts about the emergence of the Bulgarian musical culture have been presented for first time in Oslo. As a result a huge interest has been displayed on part of academic teaching music professionals in Oslo toward incorporating a Bulgarian musical work for piano in the repertoire of the Norwegian Academy of Oslo as well as in the repertoire of the student musicians.
