Description

Research of possibilities for developing future cooperation between the Chair of Econimics at the the University of Bergen and the Chair of General Political Economy at the University of Economy in Varna; Exchange of information about the existing programmes and fields of study, syllabi, employed practices of teaching, education and examination, etc. Acquisition of more information about the approaches applied toward offering programmes related to teaching Econimics to students, finding out more about ways for imroving the quality of the programmes and the education to students, developing future project partnerships, conducting research; By further developing cooperation between the two university chairs; Syllabi developers, students, university and academic staff and possible other stakeholders; Dispalyed an interest in the experience and adopted teaching and research practices at the General Economic Theory Chair of the University of Economy in the city of Varna Promotion of better, more attractive and relevant education related to Economics and Economy Theory;

Summary of project results

The project was aimed to exchange of information and transfer of knowledge related to curricula and syllabi in Economics for students in higher education. The beneficiary, Prof. Zoya Mladenova, implemented the following activities: meetings with staff in the host university (student adviser, head of dept., heads of studies at the Dept. of Economics and the Dept. of Social Sciences, the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences). The beneficiary attended two lectures in development Economics delivered by Prof. Rune Jansen Hagen. In result of the mobility the beneficiary extended her knowledge in best practices related to Bachelor and Master programmes, admission of students in Economics and Political Economy in the University of Bergen and the Norwegian system of higher education in general. The beneficiary learned about the research activities of Dept. of Economics in the host university, too. The beneficiary also raised the awareness of the staff involved about the best practices in teaching and research in Economics from the University of Economy - Varna.The beneficiary also discussed possibilities for future inter-institutional cooperation within the EEA FM framework.

Summary of bilateral results

Improved knowledge and understanding about the Norwegian and the Bulgarian systems of higher education, details related to bachelor and master programmes in Economics and Political Economy both in the home and the host universities. Bilateral fund has not been used to support this mobility project. Possible inter-institutional cooperation was discussed, but no information about concrete plans for near future. The bilateral partnership established is likely to continue in future.
