Description

Why is the project needed? Joint research in the field of approximation theory What is the objective of the project? Joint research with Prof. Olaf Nygaard on the geometric properties of the norm in Banach spaces. What is the project expected to achieve? Research in the field of variation analysis and its applications and connections with Functional Analysis and Theory of Banach spaces. Who is expected to benefit? the project promoter and the donor project partner. Donor partner and role of partner? The University of Agder will share its experience in this field of research and will conduct joint research with the project promoter. What will the partnership achieve? New knowledge in the research field.

Summary of project results

Why was the project needed? Joint research and development of new knowledge in the research field. How will the results be sustained? The beneficiary and the host institution have defined 5 possible research fields for future joint collaboration related to the geometry of Banach spaces. Huge interest has been demonstrated in this respect both from the beneficiary's home and host institutions. What was the objective, and to what extent was it reached? The objective was a joint research activity and it was 100 % achieved. What was the impact? The variational and functional analysis are among the most important modern areas of research in the field of Applied Mathematics. The project impact is related to exchange of knowledge and experience in the research field and implementation of joint research, which has led to new knowledge in the research field and joint cooperation between the beneficiary's home and host institutions. What was the outcome, and to what extend was it reached? Joint research and development of new knowledge in the research field. Which output were delivered? New knowledge in the research field. How were the beneficiaries involved? The beneficiary actively participated in the exchange of knowledge and experience and in the joint research activity. What was the main benefit? Exchange of experience, development of new knowledge in the research field and strengthened bilateral cooperation between the both institutions. What did the donor partnership achieve? Exchange of experience, development of new knowledge in the research field and strengthened bilateral cooperation between the both institutions.

Summary of bilateral results

Main achievements of the project in relation to bilateral cooperation are linked to joint research producing new knowledge in the research field and strengthening the research capacity of the both participating institutions.
