Description

Local administration, NGOs and cultural institutions in the municipality of Pomorie lack sufficient facilities and financial resources to present their cultural works. Roma customs and cultural traditions remain closed within the community and are not accessible to the general public. Generally, the project objective is to restore, preserve and promote cultural heritage in general, but specifically that of Roma culture since it lacks a broader exhibition platform in Pomorie. The objective is to make accessible through its restoration a building opening for the first time as a city gallery to exhibit movable and intangible cultural heritage, including the promotion of Roma culture. It will also diversify the tourism of Pomorie and extend the tourist season through the additional cultural events. Implementing the project will allow local artists to demonstrate their creativity, and cultural institutions such as museums to show the existing pool of movable cultural heritage, which until now remains veiled. The local museum will reveal its collection of 500 pictures, 35 photo panels etc. The new gallery will be visited by at least 500 people for the duration of the project and within the planned project events, and the web-based online portal, which will be available on digital screens, and information boards will be used annually by about at least 6000 people. Additionally, digital content on the Internet will provide access to a minimum number of 1200 "unique" visits. Roma people will receive training and their cultural heritage will be presented on the Internet, more than 1000 employees and amateurs in cultural institutes, authors of works of movable and intangible cultural heritage, NGOs, students, graduates of schools, tourists and guests of the municipality will directly benefit from this project.

The overall objective of the project is to restore, preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Pomorie Municipality by providing access to it to the general public. During the implementation of the project, a reconstruction and restoration of a cultural monument was opened and opened as a new city gallery. It features exhibitions of art, creative meetings, plenaries, chamber concerts, etc. cultural events. This is how the tourist product is offered in the municipality. As a result of the project activities, the existing fund of movable and intangible cultural heritage has been digitized as new content on the Internet, which is maintained and updated continuously after the end of the project. The benefits for the target group are in terms of the newly opened and accessible cultural center that is needed and enables local artists to showcase their creativity and cultural institutes such as the museum, for example, to extract and display the existing movable cultural heritage fund is currently unavailable. The new city gallery opens the building-real estate value for the first time with the functions of a cultural institute on the territory of the Municipality. The cultural events that will be organized in the new cultural center combined with the sea recreational tourism will contribute to the diversification of the tourist product offered in Pomorie Municipality. At the same time for the general public, persons with special interests in the sphere of cultural heritage and with the desire to deepen the bilateral and multilateral relations between representatives of the Bulgarian culture and those from the donor countries, disadvantaged persons, minorities, persons placed in social institutions on the territory of the municipality and students will be provided free access to cultural products in the new city gallery and to non-formal education in the sphere of cultural heritage. For representatives of the Roma community who participated in the training and redevelopment of the building, the project provided temporary employment and opportunity for long-term realization in the labor market. The organization of creative workshops, interactive games with children from the Roma community and the presentation of works of art from the Roma ethnic group in the newly opened gallery contributes to the socio-cultural integration of representatives of the Roma community in Pomorie Municipality. For all target group members, the project has a significant impact on the newly created digital content on the Internet.
