Description

The purpose of the Project is to create conditions for the implementation of the Water Safety Plan in Slovak water companies, with the overall objective of increasing the quality and reliability of the drinking water supply in the Slovak Republic. Reference is made to the application dated 4 July 2008, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - conducting a risk analysis in the management of water supply systems, - elaboration of technological options for water treatment and conducting a technological audit for water treatment plants, - elaboration of the methodology of biological audit in water supply management as a tool for improving technological practice, - preparation of the framework drinking water safety plan, - project management and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Water Research Institute (Výskumný ústav vodného hospodárstva). Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Central Slovak Operating Company Inc., Banská Bystrica. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Slovak state budget provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
