Public health initiatives – applying for funding
Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway support public health programmes in ten beneficiary countries: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia.The programmes fund a portfolio of projects.
Who can apply for funding?
Only entities registered in the ten countries with this programme can apply. Specific criteria and target groups are defined in the call for proposals. These may include relevant government ministries and local authorities, public institutes and other public bodies active in healthcare and healthcare governance, academics and medical personnel.
How can I get involved as a partner?
To enhance knowledge exchange and mutual learning, partnerships between organisations in the donor and beneficiary countries are widely encouraged. Funding is available to support networking and foster project partnerships.
Two Norwegian organisations are involved as donor programme partners in the health programmes - the Norwegian Institute of Public Health in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Portugal and Slovenia and the Norwegian Directorate for Health and Social Affairs in Poland. They play a strategic role in programme planning and implementation, and can assist Norwegian entities who wish to get involved as partners.
How and when to apply?
Projects are selected following open calls organised by the programme operator in each country. Calls are published on the websites of the programme operators and in our open calls calendar.
