Cooperation between Bulgaria and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway

Cooperation on combating drugs and organised crime, children and youth at risk and history teaching may be funded under the bilateral fund in Bulgaria.

In addition to programme and project support under the EEA and Norway Grants, funding is available in each beneficiary country for developing bilateral cooperation and activities of bilateral interest with the three donor countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. 

In Bulgaria, €633,000 has been set aside for the bilateral national fund.  Among the focus areas for the fund, are children and youth, combating drugs and organised crime, promotion of European values and nuclear energy.

Open call for proposals
A call is now open for project proposals under two priorities:

Priority 1: Knowledge exchange in combating drugs and organized crime and knowledge exchange in the area of children and youth at risk (Budgetary allocation: €120 000)

Priority 2: Promotion of European values and in particular history teaching in multicultural society. (Budgetary allocation: €100 000)

The objective of the fund for bilateral relations in Bulgaria is to promote and strengthen bilateral relations between Bulgaria and the donor states Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway in priority areas of common interest and to share knowledge, expertise, good practice and to achieve shared results.

Partnerships obligatory
Projects have to be implemented in partnership between Bulgarian and donor state entities.

The call for proposal is a ‘rolling call’ which means that submitted applications will be reviewed and assessed on a quarterly basis. Qualified projects will be accepted on first come- first serve basis.
