Call for proposals: NGO Fund in Spain

NGOs in Spain - now’s your chance to apply for funding from the EEA Grants. First call under the €4.6 million NGO Fund is open for applications.

The EEA-financed NGO programme aims to strengthen civil society development and enhance the contribution of NGOs to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.

The programme will provide an important source of funding to help strengthen the capacity of the sector and enable NGOs to continue their vital role in pushing for more social justice and greater engagement of citizens in public life. This has become particularly acute given the challenges facing the sector aggravated by the continued economic crisis.

Who can apply for funding?

  • Grants are available for NGOs registered in Spain. Religious institutions and political parties are not considered NGOs.

What activities are supported?

Projects in the following areas are eligible for funding:

  • Active citizenship at the local level
  • Grassroots initiatives to increase involvement on NGOs in policy and decision making processes at local, regional and national level
  • Capacity building for networks and coalitions of NGOS
