Lithuanian Capacity Building Fund

The €3.7 million Lithuanian Capacity Building Fund supports 62 projects that aim to contribute to the development of the regional policy and reduction of social and economic disparities in the country.

Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are supporting the Capacity Building Fund with €3.2 million, with the Lithuanian government providing the remaining 15% of the fund.

The purpose of the fund is to encourage local and regional institutions to gain new knowledge and to improve skills in fields of their responsibilities. Through 2 open calls, grants have been awarded to 62 projects within the following areas:

  • Environment and sustainable development;
  • Human resources development;
  • Health and childcare; and
  • Preservation of European cultural heritage.
