Workshop: Challenges and opportunities for Roma inclusion in Europe
The Roma is Europe's largest minority group, and frequently face intolerance, discrimination and exclusion. Improving the living conditions for the Roma population of Europe is an important priority for the EEA and Norway Grants.
The international workshop will see the participation of representatives of NGOs and institutions that will come together to discuss the current state of Roma in Bulgaria and Romania, with focus on the main challenges. The aim of the workshop is to provide opportunities for the stakeholders from Bulgaria and Romania to share views, raise awareness and exchange good practices with counterpart organisations from Norway. During the workshop, participants will present success stories and lessons learnt, and explore the possibilities for cooperation and transfer of knowledge between the three countries.
The workshop will be accompanied by other events that can contribute to a deeper understanding of the context of the topic, such as study visits to Norwegian NGOs and institutions and a visit to Glomdalsmuseet on travellers culture in Elverum.
The international workshop is organised by the Bulgarian and Romanian 'Funds for non-governmental organisations' programme.
