Closing Event of the Greek NGO Programme “We are all Citizens”
This two-day event aims to present on the results of the EEA Grants programme aimed at strengthening civil society development and enhancing its contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development. On the second day an NGO festival will be organized to celebrate the Programme’s results and showcasing the Grants’ contribution to the strengthening of the Greek civil society to the general public.
The EEA Grants Greek NGO Programme “We are all Citizens” has focused in particular on four priority areas, namely the reduction of social inequality, poverty and social exclusion, the promotion of human rights including minority rights (especially Roma and migrants), supporting democracy, transparency and good governance as well as protecting the environment.
Friday's event will be opened by Dimitris Vlastos, President of the Bodossaki Foundation, H.E. Jorn Gjelstad, Ambassador, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Athens and George Kaminis, Mayor of Athens. In addition, there will also be a screening of the documentary "We are all Citizens".
Saturday will be an all-day festive event, celebrating the achievements of a vibrant and dynamic civil society, empowered by the EEA Grants. This will be open to the public.
