Description

The purpose of the Project is to improve accessibility to the collection of the Polish Maritime Museum with innovative forms of cultural participation at the Maritime Cultural Centre, with the overall objective of improving the Pomeranian museum system with upgraded cultural heritage resources. Reference is made to the application, dated 16 April 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: • preparation of procedures and tendering of contracts; • demolition, dismantling, debris removal and archaeological works in preparation for construction; • construction of new building on Tokarska Street; • installation of fittings and equipment; • installation of sanitation, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; • installation of electrical and telecommunication systems, as well as security systems; • installation of external networks, including waste/sewerage, water, electricity, telecommunications, heating, and drainage; • site development; • project management; and • publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Centralne Muzeum Morskie w Gdansku (Polish Maritime Museum in Gdansk). Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Stavanger Museum, Norway. The Focal Point shall ensure that Ministry of Culture and National Heritage provides at least 10.03 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost and that the Project Promoter provides at least 4.97 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
