Description

A socially excluded community of Roma people live in welfare housing Blue House, facing a lot of social-pathological phenomena. Housing development Východné/Rendez is a locally excluded area with a lot of children and young people at risk. The project seeks to raise life skills of children and youth at risk by increasing awareness about fieldwork with this target group as well as providing better services for them. As a result of the project, a save and stimulating environment for children and youth at risk in welfare housing Blue House in Vychodne and Vajnory will be established. 70 disadvantaged children and youth will be directly involved in project activities, new facility for provision of services for 30 children and young people in risk will be established. Close cooperation between non-governmental, state, and private organisations shall contribute better services for children and youth at risk and increase of awareness about fieldwork with children and youth at risk.

Summary of project results

A socially excluded community of Roma people live in a welfare housing Modrý dom, facing a lot of social-pathological phenomena. Housing development Východné/Rendez is a locally excluded area with a lot of children and young people at risk. The project outcomes will be maintained through further development of social and life skills of children and young people from marginalised communities. Sustainability shall be also assured by a long-term cooperation with schools, municipalities and NGOs. The objective of the project was to build life skills in children and young people at risk, to create stimulating environment for them, to implement activities of primary and secondary prevention, and to network experts from non-governmental organisations. The objective was fully met. The outcome of the project was defined as: safe and stimulating environment which promotes life skills development is created for children and young people in the welfare housing Modrý dom and in housing developments in Východné and Vajnory through primary and secondary intervention by experts. The outcome was fully met. Main outputs: 73 clients involved; 1 new locality and 35 new clients; 56 hours of education provided to NGO employees and volunteers; 6 NGOs participating; a conference organised and a methodology developed. Beneficiaries were involved in activities for children from a socially excluded community who live in unfavourable social conditions with pathological elements. For these children, it was important to be in touch with the organisation’s employees, have opportunities for self-realisation, and discuss important topics the entire year.
