Description

Promar Textil will invest in the development of an integrated unit for professional laundry services with implementation of an innovative Radio-Frequency Identification technology - based solution for the value-chain management of the unit that will lead to significant optimization of the processes, along with superior operational efficiency. The project concept is the result of Promar Textil's research over the past 2 years, arising from the need to have a superior control of the laundry service process, to permanently identify and localize each textile item across the entire value chain. The purpose of the project is to upgrade the laundry service capacity, integrate a new management system and tracking solution into the value chain and leaning the production capacity. A significant transfer of Norwegian know-how and experience into the Romanian market will be attained by the joint implementation of the present project, with high implications in the value chain of the laundry service unit.

Summary of project results

Promar Textil has developed an integrated unit for professional laundry services with implementation of an innovative Radio-Frequency Identification technology - based solution for the value-chain management of the unit that will lead to significant optimization of the processes, along with superior operational efficiency. The project concept is the result of Promar Textil's research over the past 2 years, arising from the need to have a superior control of the laundry service process, to permanently identify and localize each textile item across the entire value chain. The purpose of the project was achieved and laundry service capacity was upgraded by integrating a new management system and tracking solution into the value chain and by leaning the production capacity. A significant transfer of Norwegian know-how and experience into the Romanian market has been attained by the joint implementation of the present project, with high implications in the value chain of the laundry service unit. The implementation of the project led to: -requalification of 10 middle-aged women at the working place. As a result of the project implementation these women were assigned different tasks and a significant elimination of the physical work accrued (replacing it with more intellectual work) -possibility of creating even more employment possibilities for women in the future - creation of 16 new working places at all company level.

Summary of bilateral results

Lean management solution for Promar Textil’s value chain has been provided and implemented on an innovative software platform that will be integrated with the RFID hardware components, resulting in a unique management & tracking system.The basis for a leaner management of the value chain was set by the Norwegian Partner providing know-how transfer and a valuable contribution to the process optimization. The implementation of the lean concept was carried out by software developers from Pulse Soft and Marketing Office in the form of the software platform providing the linkage with the hardware infrastructure. The result is a unique management and tracking system. The know-how transfer is mutual, as the Norwegian partner contributed to the development of a valuable and state of the art business model for professional laundry services at international level, and hence be able to promote this model on the Norwegian market as well. The project has opened the door to further cooperation opportunities between the Romanian and the Norwegian project partners.
