Description

Project description: Ermax’s activity is related to recycling of plastic waste. This project assumes introducing the innovative sorting technology created by Norwegian company, Tomra through the purchase of a bottle and flake separators, a grinding machine and a machine with hot wash function. Implementation of this technology will be the most high eco-friendly technology of this type operating in Poland. This project assumes also research and tests conducted to optimize the sorting process and also verifying the differences in raw material quality due to expansion of the R&D section. Partners: The project will be implemented in cooperation with Tomra Sorting AS, Asker and Tomra Sorting Sp. z o.o, Poland. Project objectives: • Introduction of technology of plastic waste management, directly connected with environment protection • Prospects for further cooperation between Tomra Sorting AS and other Polish companies dealing with different kinds of waste sorting • Realisation of the business opportunities of greening of the European economy Outcome indicators: • Introduction of environmental technologies - 4 • Reduction in CO2 emissions - 1874 tons/year

Summary of project results

The project consisted in implementation of an innovative sorting technology, developed by a Norwegian company TOMRA, through procurement of bottle and flake separators, a grinding machine and a machine with a hot wash function. The applied technology is among the most modern solutions of this type in Poland. The new installation results in energy savings in recycling process as well as increased efficiency of plastic waste recycling. Expected direct green effect is CO2 reduction by 1900 tons per year.

Summary of bilateral results

The Norwegian partner supported Project Promoter with their international business experience and technical knowledge in the field of plastic waste sorting. The cooperation started from the testing and research to identify optimal solutions. Project Promoter also presented the joined project during conferences strengthening the visibility of bilateral relations.
