Description

The project aims to develop dialogue structures in the educational sector, with the objective of capacity building in developing social dialogue structures for decent work conditions. The project contain the following specific objectives: - Capacity-building in the educational sector to encourage the functioning of social dialogue structures in Health and Safety at the work-place. 400 members of the Health and Safety Committees from 200 schools will be trained (employers and employees representatives); - Awareness-raising activities and information network among social partners, including public and private sector organizations. Project activities include: - 416 TU members and employers' reps will be trained on H&S - 200 H&S Committees will work professional - 2 trainings will be delivered (training curriculum approved) - 1 training kit, including 2 manuals will be published and disseminated - 16 trainers will exchange experience during a study visit - 3500 pers. will be informed about decent work conditions and H&S (website, 2000 CDs, newsletter) The target group is 416 teachers from schools all over Romania.

Summary of project results

The purpose or the project was to develop dialogue structures in the educational sector, with the objective of capacity building in developing social dialogue structures for decent work conditions in the educational system. The project's outputs were primarily capacity building activities to develop the health and safety committees in schools as well as awareness-raising activities with the objective to inform, disseminate and promote the concepts of decent work and health and safety The capacity building component included trainings to promote decent work conditions through introducing concepts relating to health and safety at workplace and specific ways to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. 16 professionals were trained on health and safety issues using the experience of Norwegian partners. Training was also provided to a group of 25 teachers, trade union members, school principals and inspectors as members of health and safety committees. A study visit in Norway for the trainers was organised to share best practices and experiences with the partners and to observe on-site how the health and safety measures are applied in Norwegian schools. The project results have contributed to increased capacity-building in the educational sector to encourage the functioning of social dialogue structures in health and safety at the work place. 400 members of health and safety committees from 200 schools were trained (both employers and employees representatives). In addition, awareness-raising activities and information network among social partners, including public and private sector organizations, were carried out to promote a better understanding of the benefits of decent work and improved health and safety conditions and social protection.

Summary of bilateral results

Two Norwegian partners have been involved in project' s activities, namely LO and the Norwegian Union of School Employees (SL) . Both partners have contributed with its comptenece and knowledge in the H&S issues and sector of education.
