Description

Halogenated derivatives of hydrocarbons were used as solvent and degreasing agent in industry, agriculture and even in household, thus they penetrated into soils and groundwater causing contamination. The remediation of these pollutants are very important, because their acute and chronic toxicity accumulation in the environment and difficulty to decompose, moreover these hazardous components endanger drinking water sources everywhere in the world. The objective of the project is to produce inoculums capable of complete biodegradation (dehalogenation) process and to apply microbes for inocula from the contaminated area. Featured part of the work is to increase the volume of produced inoculums and to develop a special fermentation technology in the absence of oxygen in order to the efficient degradation capacity on site. Biologically active agent is be produced by applying new anaerobic fermentation technology, which arise opportunities. To check the actual effectiveness of the product the owner perform pilot test in the contaminated area which belonging to the Norvegian project partner. By these on site results the TRL of the product will be developed forward.
