Description

There is no other cultural event within the Czech Republic that would present top quality jazz music to the domestic Czech audience on such a scale as the Bohemia JazzFest International Music Festival. The Bohemia JazzFest is held annually and it is well known in the Czech Republic. In 2015 this festival will take place for the 10th time and it will be organized in cooperation with partners from Iceland and Norway. The main objective of Bohemia JazzFest is to present music to everybody and to offer to general public an opportunity to listen to the best musicians from all over the world free of charge. All that is to be achieved within the 2015 Bohemia JazzFest International Music Festival in cooperation between the beneficiary and the Donor partners - Norwegian jazz band Hakon Kornstad Ensemble “Tenor Battle" and Icelandic jazz band Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio. The partnership project initializes the dialogue between artists, cultural administrators and general public, contributes to raising interest in contemporary Czech, Icelandic and Norwegian art and supports cultural diversity and civic coherence.

The project Bohemia JazzFest was aimed at the presentation of the music to everybody and to offer to general public an opportunity to listen to the best musicians from all over the world free of charge. There is no other cultural event within the Czech Republic that would present top quality jazz music to the domestic Czech audience on such a scale as the Bohemia JazzFest International Music Festival. The festival contributed to cultural dialogue between countries and promoted cultural diversity and expressions of minorities since the attendees were not limited neither by the price of a ticket, nor by space. All visitors were culturally enriched with jazz music from different countries and they were offered a quality program under the open sky in the beautiful squares of cities, which were completely packed with people.
