Developing NGO partnerships

Civil society organisations in Romania can now apply for funding to develop partnerships with organisations from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The deadline is 20 February 2014.

Under this call, more than € 70 000 is available to support Romanian non-governmental organisations in searching for partners from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, to develop sustainable partnerships and preparing applications for bilateral project under the NGO programme.

The key priorities of the NGO programme in Romania are:
•    Social justice
•    Citizens’ engagement
•    Sustainable development
•    Welfare and basic services for vulnerable groups
•    Combating hate speech, extremism, racism, homophobia, anti-Semitism etc.

Exchange, meeting, visits
Activities that can be funded under the present call are for example development of the bilateral partnership by supporting the work together and sharing of common knowledge, interest and expertise on specific project ideas as well as identification of additional partners for projects by attending different meetings, conferences, study trips, visits, events organised by (potential) partners from donor states.

Partnerships
Civil Society Development Foundation is the operator of the NGO fund in Romania. The Norwegian Helsinki Committee and the Icelandic Human Rights Centre are involved in order to facilitate the identification of suitable partners in the donor countries. A comprehensive database of organisations from the donors’ states is available.

Deadline
Latest date of submission: February 20, 2014.

This grant is not intended to support projects. The second call for projects under the NGO programme in Romania is expected to be launched in spring 2014.
