Hungary NGO fund
245 projects by non-governmental organisations are supported under the €6.5 million NGO Fund in Hungary.
The Hungarian NGO fund, financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, is one of the largest funding sources for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Hungary. Grant support has been provided to 245 projects following 3 open calls for project proposals.
The purpose of the NGO Fund is to strengthen civil society in Hungary by supporting sub-projects within the priority sectors of the EEA and Norway Grants, with the overall objective of ensuring the participation of NGOs in the reduction of social and economic disparities within the EEA.

The purpose of the Fund is to strengthen civil society in Hungary by supporting sub-projects within the priority sectors of the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, with the overall objective of ensuring the participation of NGOs in the reduction of social and economic disparities within the EEA. Reference is made to the donor-approved Terms of Reference for the NGO fund in Hungary of 25 September 2007 , the Operator's bid of 27 November 2007, and the agreement for the NGO fund in Hungary between the FMO and the Operator of February 2008.
The completed Fund shall include the following activities and results:
- fund management, including evaluation, monitoring, financial control, reporting, re-granting, and publicity/informational activities.
The Operator is the Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation.
