Research Fund for the Észak-Alföld Region

  • The Hungarian Research Fund for the Észak-Alföld Region has provided grants to 10 research institutions.

    The fund aims to encourage the strengthening of R&D and technological innovation at universities, colleges and research institutions in the Észak-Alföld Region. The objective of the fund is to develop regional innovation processes, encourage applied research and promote the practical application of research results, with a special focus on renewable resources and agrarian innovation.

    Eligible applicants for funding were institutions of tertiary education, non-profit research institutes, foundations and public foundations which have their head office or a branch in the Észak-Alföld Region of Hungary. More than €765,000 in grant support was provided to research institutions following the one and only call for project proposals.

    The purpose of the Hungarian Research Fund for the Észak-Alföld Region is to develop regional innovation processes, encourage applied research and promote the practical application of research results which focus on renewable energy resources and agrarian innovation. The overall objective is enhancement of the competitiveness and use of renewable resources in the region.Reference is made to the application, dated 28 March 2006, and any correspondence through the Focal Point.



    The completed Fund shall include the following activities and results:

    - Re-granting.

    - Fund management and publicity.



    The Intermediary is the Észak-Alföld Regional Development Agency (ÉARDA).



    The Észak-Alföld Regional Development Council and Baross Gàbor Fund shall provide 3.7 and 11.3 percent of the estimated eligible costs of the Fund respectively.
