Portuguese scholarship fund launches open call

Portuguese researchers in the fields of biological, ocean, environment and health sciences now have the opportunity to apply for funding to spend a period working in a host institution in one of the EEA EFTA states.

The purpose of the fund is to promote mobility of students and researchers between Portugal and donor states of the EEA Grants, with the overall objective of supporting research and innovation and increasing skilled human resources in Portugal. To this end, €70,000 is made available to Portuguese scientists who wish to carry out research within one of the mentioned fields in Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.

Eligible applicants are individual researchers, post-graduate or PhD students. Applications may be submitted to the fund intermediary, the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, until 1 September this year. Supported projects may not start before 1 January 2010.
