Polish radio puts spotlight on supported projects

Over the next few months, several projects financed by the EEA and Norway Grants will be featured on Programme 3 of the Polish Radio. One of them concerns the revitalization of the old castle and Habsburg park complex in Żywiec, as pictured.

Receiving €533.5 million in support, Poland is the largest beneficiary state of the EEA and Norway Grants. Each of the EEA and Norway Grants` priority sectors are represented in the projects carried out in Poland. The major ones are however conservation of the European cultural heritage, protection of the environment and implementation of the Schengen acquis.

Poland is also the beneficiary of 12 funds. Notable among these are cultural, research and scholarship funds fostering bilateral cooperation projects between Norway and Poland, as well as NGO funds fostering protection of the environment, equal opportunities and strengthening Polish civil society.

Bilateral cooperation with the donor states are a key element of the EEA and Norway Grants. In Poland, more than 20 % of the projects supported are carried out in partnership with authorities, institutions or businesses in Norway.
