Estonia launches open call

On 1 June 2006, Estonia launched an open call making over 23.2 million euros available for individual project applications under the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism established by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The deadline for submission of applications is 31 August 2006.

The call, allocated to applications for individual projects, covers priority sectors supported by both the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. This includes the priority sectors for protection of the environment, promotion of sustainable development, conservation of European cultural heritage, health and childcare, and human resource development, as well as implementation of Schengen Acquis and the judiciary and regional policy and cross-border activities.

In total, the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism will make available a gross amount of 32.7 million euros to projects in Estonia over the 2004-2009 period.
