Inauguration of the Frourarhio Solidarity Centre

The Solidarity Centre in the Frourarhio building in Athens will provide the financially deprived people residing in the area with free health care, legal aid, employment assistance and other measures directed at vulnerable individuals and families such as assistance to single mothers, day care for their children and a helpline.

The project aims to ameliorate the suffering of vulnerable populations in Greece, to promote and enhance collaboration and synergies between civil society actors and to promote social cohesion by strengthening solidarity among different groups of beneficiaries such as unemployed, socially vulnerable groups, the 'newly poor' and marginalized and excluded populations.

The Centre is supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the Greek 'Solidarity and Social Inclusion' programme.
