Conference: Living Monuments
The conference presents the new opportunities in tourism and social and economic development in Slovakia brought by monuments reconstructed with support from the EEA and Norway Grants.
Organised by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bratislava, the Government Office of the Slovak Republic and the Žilina Self-Governing Region, the conference will present Slovak and Norwegian experiences of restoration projects under the Slovak 'Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage' programme. Several project will be presented, including the restorations of Skalica Town Hall and the Evangelic Church Bátovce, as well as the Wedding Palace Bytča, which hosts the conference.
Speakers at the conference include Ms Inga Magistad, Ambassador of Norway to Slovakia, Mr Juraj Blanár, President of the Žilina Self-Governing Region, and Ms Emília Kršíková, Director General of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
The conference will conclude with the opening of a photo exhibition 'Heritage Reborn' which captures monuments restored with support from the EEA and Norway Grants over the last five years.
