Conference: Hate Speech and the Role of Civil Society – Reflections on achieved results and communicating lessons learned

Organised by the fund operator of the Bulgarian NGO programme, the Open Society Institute, the conference aims to provide an arena for discussing achieved results and lessons learned.

The conference is organised as part of the Fourth Annual Meeting of the Bulgarian NGO programme, and will discuss trends and challenges in countering hate speech. The discussions are structured along four panels: hate speech - facts and policies, the role of civil society in overcoming stereotypes and curbing hate speech in media, countering hate speech in education and civic initiatives for changing public attitudes towards hate speech.

The conference will see the participation of NGOs from beneficiary countries, experts, media, public institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

The Bulgarian Minister of Justice, Ekaterina Zaharieva, will open the conference.
